Comparing Knowledge-Intensive and Data-Intensive Models for English Resource Semantic Parsing

چکیده

Abstract In this work, we present a phenomenon-oriented comparative analysis of the two dominant approaches in English Resource Semantic (ERS) parsing: classic, knowledge-intensive and neural, data-intensive models. To reflect state-of-the-art neural NLP technologies, factorization-based parser is introduced that can produce Elementary Dependency Structures much more accurately than previous data-driven parsers. We conduct suite tests for different linguistic phenomena to analyze grammatical competence parsers, where show that, despite comparable performance overall, knowledge- models types errors, way be explained by their theoretical properties. This beneficial in-depth evaluation several representative parsing techniques leads new directions development.

Models for intensive longitudinal data

The book Models for intensive longitudinal data is an edited volume consisting of eleven chapters by 23 authors. These chapters are separate contributions without links to the other chapters. To escape the impression that this is a fragmented book, the editors Theodore A. Walls and Joseph L. Schafer start with a twelve-page Introduction. This Introduction gives an extensive overview of the chap...

Skills and Knowledge for Data-Intensive Environmental Research

The scale and magnitude of complex and pressing environmental issues lend urgency to the need for integrative and reproducible analysis and synthesis, facilitated by data-intensive research approaches. However, the recent pace of technological change has been such that appropriate skills to accomplish data-intensive research are lacking among environmental scientists, who more than ever need gr...

Virtual Resource Management for Data Intensive Applications in Cloud Infrastructures

Cloud computing describes the model of a scalable resource provisioning technology that redirects the possibility of hardware and software leasing to the Internet, through the use of an equitable pay-per-use strategy. In this paper we present a new provisioning mechanism in Clouds used for large-scale data-intensive computing. Our project addresses the key requirements in managing resources at ...

Dynamically Negotiated Resource Management for Data Intensive Application Suites

In contemporary computers, and networks of computers, various application domains are making increasing demands on the system to move data from one place to another, particularly under some form of soft real-time constraint. A brute force technique for implementing applications in this type of domain demands excessive system resources, even though the actual requirements by different parts of t...
